Rest & Reconnect LV loves Organizers!
Rest & Reconnect LV follows a sustainable organizer model; we prioritize collaboration, shared learning, and accessibility.
Organizers are not expected to arrive with professional experience. Instead, participants learn through hands-on work while building skills. Community organizing is complex, so Organizers may improve a broad range of skills.All organizers should expect to attend regular weekly to bi-weekly meetings, when possible. We validate your experience! Organizers may request verification of volunteer or organizing hours. The goal of the Rest & Reconnect Organizing structure is simple: build community while helping disabled organizers gain life and practical experience.
Organizer Roles
Rest & Reconnect LV is currently recruiting volunteers for several organizing roles. Each role focuses on a different operational need of the project. Co-learning can be energizing! Organizers are encouraged to support one another and learn multiple skills.
Fund Guardian
The Fund Guardian organizes and tracks financial accounts and expenses for Rest & Reconnect LV. Responsibilities include maintaining a budget, tracking invoices, documenting reimbursements, and keeping records of expenses connected to events or supplies. Professional accounting experience is not required. However, anyone interested in becoming a Fund Guardian would benefit from enjoying working with numbers.
Admin Superhero
A jack-of-all-trades, the Admin Superhero role acts as a multi-faceted organizational position. Supporting the day-to-day coordination of Rest & Reconnect LV, the Admin Superhero is vital to a functioning team.
Responsibilities may include organizing shared cloud storage, maintaining files and notes, tracking communications, and helping manage internal documentation. As Rest & Reconnect LV prioritizes privacy and accessibility, the Admin Superhero may also explore open-source tools and emerging technological platforms. Love fast-paced learning? Event Builders
Rest & Reconnect LV is seeking two Event Planners.
Event Builders are integral to Rest & Reconnect LV's mission. Helping with design, coordination, and facilitating community gatherings, they are a recreational lifeline. Responsibilities include helping plan event logistics, assisting during meetups, supporting community activities, and helping guide small projects connected to events.

Volunteers are encouraged to explore new responsibilities; learn the history of grassroots organizing, and participate in local non-disability issues. Mutual aid is increasingly Rest & Reconnect LV's outreach and sustainability plan. New ideas and initiatives to support disabled people in Las Vegas are always welcome.
